What it is
An open-source agent from Nous Research with a built-in learning loop that turns experience into reusable skills. It is model-agnostic: Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI or your own endpoint, switched with one command.
Install
Linux, macOS, WSL2
$ curl -fsSL https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/install.sh | bash
Windows PowerShell
$ iex (irm https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/install.ps1)
Start
$ hermes setup
$ hermes
"hermes setup" runs the setup wizard; "hermes model" picks the provider.
Commands are copied from the source on the checked date. Installers change; if one fails, the source link has the current version.
